[[ Attention, please! ]]

Hello, Naverians!

Due to lack of participation in our writing challenges, we have decided to discontinue them. Instead, we will be accepting logs with the same specifications:

  • Scenes must be between muses of [community profile] naver.
  • Entries must be posted to the journal of at least one of the muses involved. To protect your privacy, you may filter the entry to the mods. You can create an access filter here.
  • You may scene by any means you wish -- AIM logging, journal threading, or Tumblr threading. AIM and Tumblr scenes must be posted to at least one party's journal for it to count toward activity.
  • Each involved muse must have at least 500 words written for the scene to count.
  • For easy tracking, please PM us the link to your scene.
  • Deadline is at the end of the month.

If you would still like to use a prompt for your scenes though, you are more than welcome to use past challenges for inspiration. Logs, twitter interaction, and comment interaction serve as one half of your required community activity.

Questions or concerns? Please direct them to us via PM or DM!

[[ Attention, please! ]]

Hi puppies!

We've noticed that there's been some discussion about muses who have out of community doubles. We maintain our stand in saying that there's nothing wrong with having doubles as long as you're responsible about them.

That said, we want to remind everyone to manage your doubles properly so as not to alienate muses within the community. Please be kind, courteous, and responsible about mentioning doubles in your general timeline, even if you don't have the community muse added because mentioning out of community doubles openly can be game breaking for some muns. While we haven't received any formal complaints about this yet, we are aware that it's a problem in our home.

We are by no means trying to chastise anyone specifically at this time. But we'd also like to address how this issue will be handled from this point forward. If this sort of behavior becomes noticeable to us, as mods (and it has to be fairly blatant because we can't often keep up with the mod account timeline), or if we are formally complained to, the muse/mun in question will be kindly contacted and asked to be a little more mindful. If the problem persists with the same amount of blatant disregard, we will take further action.

Thank you, and once again we do implore you to PM us with any question or concerns.

Writing Challenge, Round 1

WRITING CHALLENGE, ROUND 1

Here is Naver's first Monthly Writing Challenge! We'd like to strongly encourage writing just as much as interaction in this community, and with this challenge we aim to help you get inspiration for your scenes.

Want to write with someone random? Accidental meeting? Meet new people? PM [personal profile] modnim, and we'll set you up with someone wanting to do the same.

Here's how it works:
  • Leave a comment with the code for any of the provided prompt sets, and write scenes using these prompts.
  • Separate scenes must be written for each prompt, and every scene should be written out with different people.
  • Scenes must be posted to the journal of at least one of the muses involved. To protect your privacy, you may filter the entry to the mod. You can create an access filter here.
  • You may scene by any means you wish -- AIM logging, journal threading, or Tumblr threading. AIM and Tumblr scenes must be posted to at least one party's journal for it to count toward the challenge.
  • Your scene partner does not need to join this challenge. As long as they agree to scene with you for a prompt, that scene will count toward the challenge...
  • ... and activity! Any scene written for this challenge will count toward your monthly activity requirement (along with one post to the community).
  • Scenes do not need to be finished, but each muse involved must contribute a minimum of 500 words per scene.
  • We understand that plotting does not occur often in these parts. Driving your scene to make it correspond with your prompt is part of the challenge.
  • Deadline is at the end of the month.

How Activity Works

home members about help tools sign out

ACTIVITY AT NAVER

To ensure efficient use of our resources, we require each account at Naver a certain level of activity every month. Activity on Naver focuses on interaction, so we strongly encourage you to make friends and connect with them!

The member roster displays your account's status. To satisfy monthly activity, each account must have 1 community discussion entry along with any of the following:

  • 10 comments on at least 3 community posts, including claims, not including your own entries;
  • Tweets to at least 5 other Naverlings; or
  • 1 logged scene with these specifications.

An entry for community discussion could be anything, as long as it engages others and fosters community interaction. It could be a question, a meme, a game, or an organized event. To avoid squatters and people who disappear after claiming, we do not consider claims as discussion posts. Please also note that we disregard abandoned entries. Make sure you reply to the comments on your post to make your entry count!

Exemptions are given to accounts that are less than two weeks old, and to Puppy Buttizens who are away.

To see your standing on fulfilling activity requirements, you may check the community activity monitor. Completed requirements are marked with X's.

We understand that schedules could make posting early in the month difficult. Should you decide to post your community entry during the last five days of the month, you will not be allowed to do that again the month afterwards. Late posts that receive no comments are subject to disregard and may result in the account getting cut. Lastly, abandoned posts made during this time will not count for activity. If you get any comments, please do reply to them!

For questions and such, you may PM us at [personal profile] modnim or DM [twitter.com profile] modsshi.
